relaxation

we live in an over-stimulated society, all of us either rush from school to practice, to a job, to home, to the mall, to a clients place, to uni- and guess what, all these happens in a day. all of the things that you're involved in may be great, but sometimes you just need to push the "pause" button. you need to stop and smell the popcorn, you need to chill out once in a while.

your body needs it, your teen years are times of accelerated growth, your body is in high gear, and it's going through tremendous changes. but once you get older, it's not like that anymore, and if you push to hard, your body might just breakdown. that's why, while you are young, you got to learn how to stop long enough for your legs to keep up with your arms (it means rest lah!) times of relaxation allow your cells to regroup and rest for the work ahead.

your mind needs it too, sometimes, it's on overload. homework, scripts, songs, plays, proposals, meetings-you have a lot to think about, sometimes you just need to stop thinking. relax, put your mind in neutral, cause you have a long way to go. learn to enjoy your life, you only have one. have a nice day all of you !!!

a little story

found this story while blog surfing. anyways, it tells us about setting our priorities right, do not let the power of money make you forget your loved ones, especially God !!!

There were two brothers who were very very close and spent a lot of time doing everything together. The elder brother, Marcus, started to work and his business grew bigger while his 7 years old younger brother, Michael, was left alone most of the time now. After some many months, they never actually talked anymore and Michael missed his Marcus very much.

One day, Michael waited for Marcus to get home from work and towards midnight, his Marcus came home looking tired. Michael instantly jumped up and dashed towards Marcus and insistently pulled him aside the room. Michael asked Marcus how much he makes an hour in his business. And Marcus answered, "About $450". Michael paused for a moment and replied, " Great, then can I borrow $200 from you?" Marcus asked why Michael needed so much money and Michael said he needed the money for something important. Reluctantly, Marcus took out his wallet and pulled out 200 bucks and gave it to his younger brother.

Michael happily took the money. Brought out his old saving box, Michael opened the rusted lid. Took out the money he saved and added them together with the money he just received. Upon seeing so much money in the box, Marcus was furious. He gave a slap on Michael's head and shouted, "Why still ask me for $200 when you have more than that yourself?".

Michael cried but persistently gathered all the money and counted them twice. Marcus was furious. But before Marcus could say another word, Michael handed over the money to his elder brother saying, "Here is $450. Can I buy one hour of your time?" Marcus was stunned and went speechless. At that moment, he could only tear. And he gave his younger brother a big hug and spent the rest of th evening with him.

have a nice day all of you !!!

do pray for our country

"United to build and to be a Blessing"

PRESS STATEMENT
CONFISCATING OF CHRISTIAN LITERATURE

The Council of Churches strongly deplores the action of the state enforcement officials of the Publications and Al-Quran Texts Control Department
under the Internal Security Ministry who recently confiscated English language Christian children's books said to contain offensive caricatures
of prophets from several bookshops in three states; Johor Baru, Negeri Sembilan and Perak. Such officials have no right and have overstepped
their bounds by confiscating Christian literature.

It has been stated that illustrations of prophets depicted in the children's books are offensive to the sensitivities of Muslims.
In the first place, the Christian children's books are not meant for Muslims, so how can it be offensive to them?
Second, the illustrations contained in whatever form in such books depict biblical characters of spiritual significance for Christians.

By such an action the officials have offended the sensitivities of Christians because their publications and depictions of their biblical personalities
have now become targets of unscrupulous Muslim officials bent on curtailing religious freedom in the country.

The Council of Churches strongly urges the Prime Minister and his Cabinet to take immediate action to put a stop to such actions by the said Ministry.
If such actions continue, it will undermine democracy and tarnish the good relations between the different religious communities in the country.
Immediate steps should be taken to amend administrative rules and regulations especially in the Internal Security Ministry that give a freehand
to enforcement officials to act at their whim and fancies.

trust

what is faith? faith is an inner belief, or trust, in something or someone. it's not something you can see or touch. often, you believe in something even though you can't fully understand it, for example, if you drive a car, you put the key into the ignition, and you trust that by turning the key you will start a chain events that will take you from where you are now to where you want to go.

have you ever heard of people who lost faith in something or someone? they stopped believing because they encountered setbacks in their lives, most of us do that, don't we? actually, setbacks are a good place to put faith into action-a champion figure skater doesn't quit a routine because of a fall, he or she gets up from the ice, continues the routine, and then uses the incident as a learning point. the skater overcomes the setback by believing that he or she will do better the next time.

so, can you overcome your setbacks? you better start believing that you can, life would definitely be more fun! remember: overcome failure with faith. have a nice day all of you !!!

fellowship

people need other people, that's just the way we're made. we have this inner longing for friendships, but our friendships can be a negative influence on our lives as well as a positive one. a common faith, and its accompanying values, is an important factor in building positive relationships.

in almost every town, there is a group of people your age that meets in association with a local church to share common beliefs. that kind of friendship is called fellowship, these meetings are usually very positive and are all about building God-centered relationships and friendships.

a church youth group is designed to offer a cool place to hang out and be surrounded by people who have a common relationship with God, same goes to adult cell groups, ladies group, men's group, children's group and more.

if you want to add a great dimension to your friendships, look for a church with an active youth group, adult group or children group, and then get involved. how do you find one? easy, ask your friends, look for the church ads in your newspaper. ask a family member who attends church, if you seek then you will find. you need the group, and the group needs you! have a nice day all of you!!!

efficiency

everyone has the same 1440 minutes to work each day-no more and no fewer. the management of those times is what's important, they fly more swiftly than an eagle and it passes before you even realize it. you sit down to watch a few minutes of television, and suddenly an hour or two passes, it happens to most of you right? the same thing happens when you play computer games, minutes turn into hours before you know it.

learning how to efficiently manage your time is one of the most important skills you will ever develop. time must be controlled, or it will control you. use a daily planner or a handheld computer to map out your minutes.

spend some of your minutes in planning, for example, what goals do you want to reach today? who are you going to meet today? etc, make a list. and then, learn how exciting it is to cross an activity off your list after you've accomplished it, spend some of your time in quiet reflection, take the time to reflect on your day, and include some time of prayer and Bible study.

learn to conquer your minutes, and you'll have hours to spend, this is called minute management! have a nice day all of you !!!

dream big dreams

champions usually don't win their titles by accident, they plan for them. the always begin the competition with just that one goal in mind: winning. even if the statistics are against them, they still believe they can overcome.

champions win because they dream big, in one sense, winning begins in your mind. if you can see yourself crossing the goal, you have a great incentive for running the race, your attitudes makes all the difference.

take that attitude into the other areas of your life as well. when you think of future, think big. why settle for being a parking lot attendant at the medical clinic if you have the potential for being one of the physicians? never settle for second best, aim to study, work, or play at you highest level of achievement.

here's a good principle: attitude plus effort equals accomplishment. if you can see it in your mind, you're on the way to making it a reality. if you want some big realities, then you'd better do some big dreaming. you've got to believe in order to see it. have a nice day all of you !!!

power of prayer

please do enjoy this video clip that was done by most of the main church youth of new life. by the way, good jobs guys, keep up the good work......enjoy:

helpfulness

if you saw an elderly lady struggling to get her groceries into her car, what would you do? you'd help her of course, right? making someone's burden a little lighter by putting some of it on yourself is one of the most rewarding experiences in life. the things you do for free usually turn out to be the most valuable, they'll stay with you a lot longer than the things you are paid to do.

helpfulness is a habit that is developed, just like in-line skating or riding a motorcycle. start small, offer your place in line to the person behind you, pick up the gum wrapper in the aisle at the store, take a turn doing the supper dishes at home.

then move up a notch, offer to baby-sit for a friend or a relative (like me lah, hehehehe), paint the house of the needy, take a shift working in the kitchen at a homeless shelter, do maintenance work on the car of a single mum, volunteer to be a camp counselor, and many many more.

if you hear the word "help", dun just sit or stand there and do nothing, answer the call, give that someone a helping hand whenever needed. have a nice day all of you!!!

just a little encouragement

found this little story quite interesting while blog surfing, i hope that it will be an encouragement to all of you:

Don't give up.....

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.
"God", I asked, "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me...
"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"
"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I to ok very good care of them.
I gave them light.
I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.
"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would
not quit." He said.
"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared
to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6
months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."
He asked me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots".
"I would not quit on the bamboo.
I will never quit on you."
"Don't compare yourself to others."
He said.
"The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful."
"Your time will come", God said to me.
"You will rise high"
"How high should I rise?"
I asked.
"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.
"As high as it can?" I questioned.
"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and brought back this story.
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.
Never, Never, Never Give up.
For the Christian Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.
Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is,
tell the problem how Great the Lord is

have a nice day all of you !!!

for those of you out there who are working too hard !!!

i bumped into this little story while blog surfing, found it to be very interesting and hopefully all of you can see the moral behind the story, here it goes...

An American consultant was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.

The Mexican replied, "Only a little while."

The American then asked, "Why don't you stay out longer and catch more fish?

The Mexican said, "Well, I catch enough to feed my family."

The American then asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"

The Mexican fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos, I have a full and busy life, senor."

The American scoffed, "I am a Harvard graduate and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."

The Mexican fisherman asked, "But senor, how long will this all take?"

To which the American replied, "15-20 years."

"But what then, senor?"

The American laughed and said, "That's the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions."

"Millions, senor? Then what?"

The American said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos."

sometimes we just concentrate so much on our work that we tend to miss out a lot of interesting things in life. yes, you may say that how to survive if we don't work, but what i'm trying to say is, it is the mentality you have in work that is important. furthermore, God's got a bigger plan for you than just the success of your work.

improvement

imagine if there was a building where you could go to find the secrets of emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental improvement? actually, there is, it's called the library!!!

your local library is full of great books, magazines, newspapers, and audio visual resources. you don't actually have to sign up for some expensive, mail-order, self-improvement program. all you have to do is spend some free time in the library, this is something even i haven't done for a long time (however, i do spend time in book stores)

anyways, what i am trying to say is the self-improvement is a key to your personal growth, if you want to "move up the ladder", then you'll need to lean it against a a library or a bookstore. your librarian will take you to just the right section, or help you find the computerized source, to help you stay a step ahead of the crowd.

learn about the past in great history books, the triumphs and tragedies of the past will help you learn how to face the future. learn about the present, find out about the world you're living in, keep a newspaper in one hand and a good book on current events in the other. this way, you will know what is going on around you!!! don;t be naive to your surroundings, be alert, be ready all the time to act or re-act. this is one if the ways of improvement. have a nice day all of you !!!

devotion

when you want to hang out with your friends, you don't just leave it up to chance right? you actually set up a specific time and place to meet them, and then you look forward to the meeting. you know you'll have some important stuff to talk about, you'll make some plans, you may even use your meeting time to tell them how you feel about them-to let them know about your devotion to them, or you might do something together-watch a movie, eat, shop, play, etc etc.

a meeting with God is like that-and more. your daily appointment with god is a time for talking to HIM, a time for sharing what's on your heart, and a time of expressing your devotion to HIM. are you doing this often enough? if not, then you should make an effort to do so, cause God is expecting to hear from us all the time.

while God is not limited to a scale of time, we are. to make sure we meet with HIM each day, we should make an appointment. it doesn't mean that we have to limit our experience with God just because it is an appointment, we can meet HIM anytime and anywhere, but setting a specific time to talk with HIM in prayer and to read HIS Word helps us make it a regular occurrence. be devoted t your devotions, be devoted to God, be devoted to who God wants you to be!!! have a nice day all of you !!!

priorities

have you ever watched a litter of kittens? they explore their surroundings together, they play with each other, they fuss and they fight, they try to be the first in line when food is served. but after a while, they usually end up cuddling together for warmth or rest, basically, their security is in their relationship to each other.

their interaction actually strengthens them, causing muscles to be trained while they are playing with each other. at the same time, their senses are also being sharpened as they look out for each other, emotions are being developed by their dependence on the others. bottom line, family is a priority for the kittens.

we're all living in a very busy time right now, a lot of you are exploring the world-homework, after school practices, recitals, study groups, part-time jobs, work, etc etc-but it would be a good idea to follow the example of the kittens and make your family relationships a priority. when i say family, it is actually a very big scope, there is the family of God (God is supposed to be the priority of our lives by the way), family of your ministry, your actual physical family, and also being a family to the world.

make some time for all these, show some love to everyone, fell the warmth of each other, let it be a source of strengthening. settle any differences with everyone for the sake of your own security and the unity of the family. remember in life, it is the "litter" things that counts, so go and enjoy some good times with all the families that you have. have a nice day all of you !!!

trustworthiness

chris loved to take things apart and put them back together, to do that, he often needed tools from his father's toolbox. however, the problem was, most of the time he forgot to put them back for his father. so when chris's dad needed his tools for a project, he usually had to search for them, that not only slowed the work on dad's project, it also caused problems in their relationship.

dad didn't mind his son borrowing the tools, but he tried to stress the importance of returning things when you borrow them. whether you're borrowing tools, sports equipments, clothing, or anything else, you should make it a point to return the items on time.

knowing how to return things is a great habit for 2 good reasons, there may be more. firstly, it makes it easier on the people whose stuff you borrowed, they won't have to hunt you down to find the missing items. secondly, it teaches you how to be trustworthy, your faithfulness here will also help you in other areas, plus, you're developing a good habit and good habits lead to good character. have a nice day all of you !!!

worry

midnight is an interesting time of the day. at 12 o'clock, today's problems becomes yesterdays problems. "live one day at a time" is perhaps the best advice you'll ever hear, and as long as you're going to live one day at a time, you might as well choose today. the reason is because you can't do much about yesterday, and you certainly can't do anything about tomorrow until it gets here, am i making sense here? worrying about yesterday is a waste of time, you might as well focus on meeting the challenges today.

worrying about tomorrow drains life's energy and you might end up not doing anything today, borrowing tomorrow's troubles really really saps your strength and in some cases, it has even caused physical or mental illness, all of you don't wanna end up like that right?

too much worry also shows lack of faith in God, remember, God is eternal. HE existed way before time and will exist after time on earth is done. God knows as much about your tomorrow as HE does about your today. you just got to realize how great HE is so that you can start trusting HIM for the unknown, because it is well known to HIM.

so, what are you waiting for? seize the day! tomorrow's troubles may turn into tomorrow's triumphs!!! don't borrow tomorrow's trouble, live today as it is. have a nice day all of you !!!

judging

"think before you leap," the saying goes. that's a pretty good advise in any situation, don't all of you think so? but it's especially good advise when you encounter other youth's questionable behavior. before you start pronouncing judgment like "judge judy" (a show i used to watch in aussie), be sure you have all the facts. there may be a perfectly good explanation for the words or actions you have just witnessed.

truly, it comes down to believing the best about people, the easy route is to believe the worst about an individual. all you have to do is swim downstream with the rest of your feathered friends who are ducking their responsibility by not looking at the facts. some of you feel the same too right? sometimes especially with your parents, teachers or leaders.

believing the best also leads to saying the best, it's better to hold that thought rather than turning it into a lethal weapon. spreading rumors doesn't take much strength, but it can have a deadly force. with a word or two, you can kill someone's reputation and cause him or her heavy-duty pain.

so, if you don't know the facts or haven't found out the truth, believe the best first and worst last. think before you jump to conclusions. have a nice day all of you !!!

nice presentation

guys, this is good man, enjoy:

humor

linda took a shortcut through her backyard one afternoon, she was deep in thought when she accidentally stepped on the rake her brother had forgotten to put away. the handle of the rake flew up and hot her right on the nose, before long, her nose and eyes were black and blue.

at that instance, she had a choice to make, either she could be upset abut the incident, or she could decide to have a good laugh. which would you choose? anyways, she chose to laugh about it. in school the next day, she told her friends in the canteen about what happened and as she went into the funny details of stepping on the rake, her friends all laughed loudly. it was really a fun recess time for all of them in the midst of an otherwise ordinary day.

people, let's face it, life has its silly moments and many of them will happen to you and me. instead of being embarrassed about them, why not turn them into a good story and brighten up someone's day?

go for the funny, find the funny rather than the angry in everyday life. have a nice day all of you !!!
