Love Cheras Youth Concert 2008

thanx to the CPF pastors openness, this was one of those concerts where it wasn't only christian songs that were being sung, we were also given liberty to invite circular artist from around the country to come and perform in this community concert meant for the young people at Leiure Mall Cheras.

this is definitely one step forward into getting closer to the grass root people without scaring them off with our typical evangelistic enthusiasm (nothing wrong with this type of enthusiasm, just that different tactics need to be applied at different times & wif different people)

this concert was part of a 2 day carnival "Love Cheras Carnival" that was organized by the Cheras Pastors Fellowship Bhd. the carnival went on well and ended with a bang (concert) on the first day. i would talk more about the carnival next time, this time i would like to talk about the concert.

i personally was put in charge of this concert together with another friend Vivien from Jubilee. i was really glad when told by the pastors that i had liberty in inviting who i think was relevant and not limited to christian groups or singers only. this was really great as i truly believe in being relevant to the community. did i mention that everything was "FREE" for everyone including the day time carnival.....cool isn't it ?

as a result of the liberty given, we ended up with a good mixture of circular and christian groups/singers. we started off with 2 oldies singers (dun play play...one of them is 2005 Astro Golden Melody Champion) and they really wowed the crowd man.....





then......ta dah.....let the noise begin.....first we had.......

The Bus Company Band

then we had a group of hip-hop dancers, they were really hip man.....


after that, we had our very own local hummingbird artist-Serene Cheam


not only did she sang melodiously, she also interacted with the crowd through games


had another hip-hop dance that was as usual.....COOL......

and ended with a bang by Bus Company Band !!!!




other than having songs and dances, we also had games...



i was off and on the stage just doing some mcing, and also to give away some freebies...and this is what happens when you give away "FREE" stuff......




and then it all ended with everyone happy...
