wide 201

recently completed the wide 201 seminar with some of the youth from church, it was great and definitely something new to learn all the time

as usual, they were split into different groups

the usual cam-whoring while waiting for things to get on

then we were sent out to talk to strangers about Jn 3:16, well, these are some of the strangers i spoke to along with my DD (discipler-discplee)

young as he may seem, but he knows what i was talking about

and this was the stranger my dd (ashley) spoke to, a pretty friendly guy

take a close look at this last supper picture, becoz you will find a bunch of monkeys trying to pose exactly what da vinci has drawn.

i think that the table was rather short and the monkeys were not close together enuf. however, good try guys, you deserve at least 70 points for all these efforts.

art

art is something that is hard to define, coz everyone has their own set of idea on what art is, I for one suck at art, never really had good grades at art and never really know what is the definition of artistic. but one thing i know, as long as i like wat i see, then that is art to me, won't you all agree ?

anyways, here are some shots i took that while having dinner one night and i found them artistic, do enjoy:

selfishness

ever heard of this : "what about my rights? or what about me?" it's a common expression these days, everyone is looking out for his or her own benefits. consequently, we seem to be living in a world where people look out only for themselves. and what happens when someone seems to violate our rights? our natural instinct is to retaliate-word for word, action for action, hurt for hurt, etc etc, and we call it payback time!!!

Jesus was the most selfless person who ever lived on earth and He taught us that there are times when we surrender our rights for the welfare of others. He surrendered His rights when He died on the cross and His death made it possible for you and me to be forgiven of our past and to be assured of a future filled with hope.

you know what, you can't control how other people will act towards you, but you can control how you react towards them. revenge is a selfish reaction, it also ends up hurting you more than it does to anyone else, because you will eventually end up with the guilt, bitterness, and anxiety. so, never seek revenge!!! have a nice day all of you !!!

reflection

one of the first things you do every morning is look in the mirror. this process can be very scary, especially if you didn't get enough sleep the night before. but after you've showered, brushed your teeth, and done the first comb-through on your hair, the view in the mirror looks a little better. later, after the final comb-through, or after the make-up is applied, the view changes and suddenly you realize that you actually look fantastic.

have you really looked in the mirror lately? if yes, what do you see? at first glance, you might see someone you're unhappy with - your eyes are the wrong colour, your nose is too long or too short, you have a zit or two, your teeth is too yellow, your hair design sucks, etc etc. but, look again !!!

you are actually a very valuable person in God's eyes, you have unique skills and the ability to make a difference in someone else's life. you are the right person for the job at hand, no one can do it better than how you do it. there are some adjustments you might need to make before you face your day, but the potential is there. now, put your "God-glasses" on and take another look at yourself in the mirror. have a nice day all of you !!!

dare to dream big

recently, i had dinner with a bunch of youth pastors in this place called Dream Centre (by the way, it houses a church called DUMC). seeing this centre, it really motivates me to keep dreaming big for God, (dreaming big is my expertise!!!). sometimes we humans just underestimate the power of our God when it comes to realization of HIS dreams for our lives. to all of you out there, start dreaming again and for those who are already dreaming, KEEP DREAMING- remember to take action as well otherwise dreams won't be fulfilled, hahaha!!!

first, we were welcomed by 2 open basketball courts, hurray to the young people !!! guess what? there's also a couple of badminton courts and a gym at the back which i forgot to snap with my sad 2.0MP Iphone (dun misunderstand, the phone is great, one of the greatest i have ever used but the camera really sucks, just look at the pics man, come on Apple, you can do better than this!!!)

very sorry for the lousy quality guys, next time i will bring my proper camera !!!

FLOOR DIRECTORY ??? pplz, i am not kidding, this church has a multi-floor directory

it basically has a hall that can sit 2700 and countless of rooms for various meetings, the best part is that it has a open garden for you to hang around - definitely a nice place to "pak-toh" the christian way.

the cafeteria is one of the first things you see when you step into the church lobby, whoever thought of this is really smart coz it follows what the chinese saying that goes "food is the way to reach a man's heart" good job guys !!!

do you see what i see? we were told to help ourselves or literally indulge ourselves with all those drinks in the fridge for FREE !!!

now, after food, we were taken for a tour around the church, really impressive and bold in colours, by the way, this is a photo of the church ceiling !!!

this is the hall that sits 2700 with chairs, i wonder how many it would sit without chairs, i am thinking mega youth concert by maybe "Planetshakers, Hillsong United, Edge, Passion, etc etc" come dream with me young ppl !!!

super big clock that faces the stage, great idea to remind time for those especially "cheong hei" speakers, hehehehehe !!! it's just a joke pplz, dun take it to heart.

i hope you are all motivated and encouraged when you see what Dream Centre has managed to do (about RM50 million in cost). don't get me wrong guys, i am not asking you to be envious or even start jumping church, i am asking you to start believing and dreaming, take that step of faith and make it happen, young as you think you are, without young people, visions will not be accomplished. so come on and dream with me !!!
